Description
These are beautiful woodpeckers with a gorgeous yellow on the underside of their wings and tails. The males have a black "mustache". There is a Western morph with red where these have yellow. These woodpeckers like to eat ants and beetles so they are often seen feeding on the ground; when they fly you will see a bright white rump.
