Description
This is what I've always called a jelly mushroom - such a beautiful yellow! These grow on dead or almost dead branches in our woods (hardwood forest) in Green Lane, PA., USA. The picture was taken May 4, 2011.

We had quite a few in a number of color. If you ate them they would be rather tasteless but not harmful - won't help grow brain matter, LOL. I believe they used to be used as thickeners in stews and such, but not prized as delicacies. I don't ever eat wild mushrooms - safer that way!
