I found this morel today (April 18, 2011) in our woods in Green Lane, PA. There was one other just beginning to emerge. I understand they are good to eat but I'm no expert and prefer caution. These guys can stay right where they are and make more morels.

CarolI l love Morel Mushrooms, when I was a kid I lived in Missouri. we had a huge apple orchard and I remember after a quick Spring rain I carried a one gallon buck and would fill it up in no time flat, fried Morels are really good eating.
