Description
We have both the black and yellow morels pop up in springtime. This year was not a good year for mushrooms in general, and we only saw a precious few morels. This picture was taken May 10, 2014, in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA, and was one of three morels I found.
The camera used was a Canon T4i with a Tamron Macro lens (90 mm),
Here are a couple sites where you can learn more about these culinary delights.

Mother Nature, I have so enjoyed exploring your portfolio...the collection of “mushrooms” is truly beautiful. This is among my favorites...LF...ohhhh, morels and decadently rich Mushroom soup at one of our one time favorite French restaurants...What a treat!
Carol Senske replied:
Thank you ever so much, Laurel:>). I'm playing "catch up" again so forgive the cut and paste. You honor me by browsing through so much of my portfolio!

Nice Morel! Wish it was springtime so I could g out and collect some! Very tantalizing. L/fv
Carol Senske replied:
This past spring was disappointing - only 3 morels and hardly any other mushrooms at all. Even summer was a wasteland as far a fungi were concerned! I did get to take a couple pics, though. Thank you for coming by, Jeffery. Wishing you bountiful pickings next spring!

So intricate! I'm becoming a mushroom connoisseur! A little like a bird watcher.....
Carol Senske replied:
You need to be a mushroom lover, Nancy. Whether with pen, brush, or photo, you'd do them great honor!
