Description
These handsome, white bracket fungi (also called plate or shelf fungi) appear on dead and dying trees and branches. They do like it damp.
Timothy Myles, a man with a broad knowledge of fungi, tells me this has a high probability of being Tyromyces balsamea. I think he's correct but I can't find a lovely web site to reference for you.
Thank you, Timothy!

Such interesting fungi! Cool textures along with the bark of the tree. L

There are so many kinds and it's hard for me to find solid IDs. Love 'em all, though. Thanks so much for coming by!

Tyromyces balsamea, maybe.

I am indebted to you for making time to help me with these identifications. I couldn't find a lot online about these so I'll change the tital and put your thoughts in the description - looks good to me from what I can find:>) THanks!
