Description
This is a picture of the home of a caterpillar in the group of "Tier Moths". They weave together leaves to create a weatherproof home like this ball of fern fronds. Other types will roll leaves of hydrangeas or oaks, for instance.
I used two textures here, both from Shadowhouse Creations - and I processed each through a couple filter modes for the layers.
The picture was taken with a Canon T4i paired with a Tamron macro lens (90mm), in our yard - Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA., July 1, 2014.
