Description
This is a picture I took at the Schuylkill River near Boat House Row in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Thanks to my brother-in-law who walked me over to where he's been seeing this majestic bird:>)
I used 2 textures from Shadowhouse Creations, did some color adjustments and transparency changes.
They are the largest of our American herons, and lightening fast when they strike out to catch themselves a meal. Watching these birds wade and hunt is a thrill. They are common and not endangered, and you may read more about them at:

Carol, I have to pay you the utmost of positivity of comments, and that is that you have hit upon the style of my great friend and superlative artist, Sharon Burger, and she hit the nail on the head, as this is totally awesome, but if you want to check out her galleries, check out her herons, and her manatee, as presently they are hung in the top spot on my "Wall of Fame" as a gift from this special person and superb artists of talents beyond what most FAA members will ever realize, but you are so wondrous in your works, and I just love this one!
