Description
These beautiful flowers grace not only our gardens but our fields and roadsides. They were introduced over a hundred years ago and have been so successful at naturalizing that they now appear in our wildflower field guides.
This picture was taken in Sumneytown, Pennsylvania, USA, on June22, 2011, with a Sony DSC H9 set to macro.
Hemerocallis fulva (the Scientific name) is not a true lily - that surprised me.
I am neither advertising this site nor have I ever bought from them, but the write up is so wonderful I'm including it here:

I have some of these in my garden....always a treat when they emerge. Lovely shot, Carol. F/L

It's wonderful when they seem to be blooming everywhere you look - orange in the ditches, at the roadsides, in gardens - you name it. I just adore them! Thank you kindly for the support and lovely comment:>)
