The river walk that runs along the Schuylkill River is constantly being improved and beautified. On my last visit the city was beginning a project to build a walk that goes along the river but actually over the water. This is a view from the regular walking/running/biking/skateboarding/skating path looking across the river.
This picture was taken May15, 2014, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The texture is from Texture King, and the camera was a Canon T4i with a Tamron 18-270 lens.
I love urban art and this display immediately caught my eye.
I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever harmed in the picture-taking process, but some things that wander into our home (like spiders) are carefully removed from the house after they serve as "models"....

I enjoy visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Philadelphia. they take me walking in interesting places and I get to take pictures - LOL. Usually the pics are not what they think I will take!
