Description
The Zabulon Skipper, Poanes zabulon, is a small, golden chunky butterfly. They love to find a sunny spot at the edge of the woods or near a road, and sit quietly with spread wings. Their range is, very roughly, east of the Rocky Mountains but doesn't appear to be numerous in the most northern states.
This picture was taken in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA, on May 23, 2012.
