Description
Ferns are incredibly beautiful plants. Whether as fiddle heads in the early spring or as lush, green foliage in the summer, even beautiful golden brown in Autumn, they are a delight to the eye.
This picture was taken in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA, in our yard. The boulders here are part of the diabase that makes up the earth underfoot in our locale. Ferns thrive in the semi-shade and full shade of the woods. This lovely Autumn fern caught my eye. The image was captured on September 1, 2013, with a Sony DSC H9 set to macro.

What a lovely nature photograph! The yellow is so unexpected with ferns....but like leaves, they have their autumn. How wonderful. My eyes will now seek them out.... F/L++
