Description
This was our view from our kitchen window this morning. There were seven altogether, but this young doe wanted more and hung back when the others wandered off.
Whitetail Deer are common in our woods, but you'd be surprised how hard they are to see if you don't have the sight pattern in your mind. Camouflage is he rule of the day for their survival.
This picture was taken with a Canon T4i and a Tamron 150mm - 600mm lens through our kitchen, not-so-clean-anymore window. March 2, 2014/Green Lane/Pennsylvania/USA
I salute the stamina and ability of these deer to adjust to almost any condition and to survive on what food is available, even English Ivy - must taste terrible.

what a lovely winter scene... Love her fuzzy coat.
Carol Senske replied:
I am always amazed to see deer in snowstorms. Their coats are so well insulated the snow doesn't even melt off their backs! I love their fuzzy coats, too:>) Thanks, Sharon!

I always watched them when we lived in Wisconsin. And I did worry too. In the final months they were leaping for low branches to eat. Nice capture, Carol. F/L
Carol Senske replied:
I am concerned for them especially when the snow is deep and iced over (and under) like it is now. Despite the warmer days we had, not enough of the snow melted to make finding food easy:>) Thanks for your kind heart, Nancy - out forest floor wouldn't be the same without our deer, would it:>)
