Description
The art of Scherenschnitte is using scissors to cut designs into paper. I did some of this intricate and lovely work years ago while learning of the Pennsylvania Dutch arts.
A quote from Wikipedia says, "Scherenschnitte (German pronunciation: [ˈʃeːʁənˌʃnɪtə]), which means "scissor cuts" in German, is the art of papercutting design. The art work often has symmetry within the design, and common forms include silhouettes, valentines, and love letters. The art tradition was founded in Switzerland and Germany in the 16th century, and was brought to Colonial America in the 18th century by immigrants who settled primarily in Pennsylvania."
This is actually a fractal design that I duplicated, rotated, matched up on various edges, added a texture and a layer of color before converting it to black and white.

LOL - It is interesting in that you can blink your eyes and you see a different aspect - instead of points sticking up you see cones. I appreciate your visit very much - thanks:>)
