Not sure, Carol, but sure looks like a yellow jacket to me! I am not a specialist, but know their stings, and these guys are predatory! You surely did a wonderful job of capturing this beauty! As long as it is busy on something else, I don't mind them! LOL Thanks for sharing this unique capture!
