Description
The semi-rolled leaf had a spider web inside but no spider. The wasp was carefully investigating it, however, which made me wonder if the spider left some sort of scent the wasp could detect.
This picture was taken October 3, 2008, at Green Lane Reservoir, Red Hill, PA.

Not sure, Carol, but sure looks like a yellow jacket to me! I am not a specialist, but know their stings, and these guys are predatory! You surely did a wonderful job of capturing this beauty! As long as it is busy on something else, I don't mind them! LOL Thanks for sharing this unique capture!
