Description
Max is a marmalade cat, a beautiful cat with long hair and big bones. He's got a sweet disposition, too, and he's feral. Someone must have dropped him off in the woods when he was a kitten because he's been around here for more than two years. His story is complicated but now he's a happy boy loving life.
My srory about our cats is here: http://mothernature2014.blogspot.com/
Responsible pet owners will have their cats spayed or neutered ASAP unless the animals are breeding or show animals. This is important for a longer life for the cat and less homeless cats suffering terribly outside on their own. Rescue organizations are overwhelmed by the numbers of wild/feral cats and can't keep up with the demand. This is a sad state-of-affairs. I plead with people to get their lovely pets "fixed". It can add years to their life and prevent a whole lot of suffering.
This picture is enhanced with a texture layer from French Kiss.

What a sweet photo....I just love the way Max is holding his front paws together...and back feet too. Such a relaxed and trusting pose. He must be less feral...because he lets you this close! F/L++

When the cat rescue people had him they said he was untrainable and would never be a pet. They gave him back to me - OH, HAPPY DAY! - and I'll never let him go again. I wanted him to have a loving home where he'd get tons of attention all day long. We love him and he's happy outside - afraid of everyone but me (who can pet him) and my husband (who he watches from about 10 feet away). He comes up to the kitchen door asking to be fed, and he rubs my legs and purrs when I pet him. He enjoys having his chin scratched! I even gig whim belly rubs:>) Yesterday I Frontlined him and it was easy as pie; he thought I was petting him:>) He is feral but not at all nasty. He wants to be loved:>)
