Description
I'm guessing this is a good identification but, as always, I appreciate corrections and/or additions. They were fairly numerous in woodland spaces with filtered sunshine. The lovely color and somewhat irregular shapes stumped me for awhile. There is another mushroom that is similar to the Golden Chanterelle, but I don't believe this is it (Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca).
These were growing in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA, in a hardwood forest. I took the picture in the early part of August 2013.
PLEASE DO NOT EAT WILD MUSHROOMS IF THERE IS NO EXPERT TO HELP YOU WHEN YOU ARE GATHERING THEM.

Thank you ever so much, Laurel:>). I'm playing "catch up" again so forgive the cut and paste. You honor me by browsing through so much of my portfolio!

that's a very pretty mushroom - love this time of year for the vast array of mushrooms out there! v
Carol Senske replied:
Me, too:>) This year was a dissapointment, however - strange weather and mostly very dry meant not too many mushrooms so I had to really search! Thanks for making time to visit - time is a precious commodity and it means a lot to me that people come by.
