Description
These pretty, relatively small butterflies are always out in our yard from the last week in April to the second week in May. They never seem to stop flying except for the briefest of moments, and I was lucky to get even one picture. This photo was taken May 2, 2011, in Montgomery County, PA.
Falcate Orangetips eat the nectar of mustards and violets ( our woods have a goodly amount of these plants), and they prefer open, moist woods.
