Description
These lovely, delicate damselflies are common around here in late May and early June. They fly with a fluttering motion, their iridescent bodies shining in the sun. This is a male; the females are more brown and have white spots on the upper portion of their wings.
Although they enjoy being close to water, it isn't unusual to find them in the woods.
This picture was taken May 26, 2012 in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA.

The damselfly reminds me of little fairies flitting about. love the irridescence...
Carol Senske replied:
Their flight is a gentle, slow fluttering motion - just like what a fairy would look like flying:>)
