Description
A Preying Mantis or two in your garden is a wonderful thing! They eat other insect and can really do a number on pests. They are large - about 4" - and look like aliens from another planet. Fossils from this kind of insect were found in Siberia from 135 million years ago.

I took this picture on August 7,2015, in our garden in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA, with a Canon T4i and Tamron macro lens (90 mm).
This picture is enhanced in both PhotomatixPro and Photoshop.
