Description
Milkweed is the food plant of Monarch butterflies and it is in trouble and dwindling in numbers in our area. I urge people to plant milkweed if they have any sunny space available. Monarchs need our help. There are around 100 species of milkweed in America and some of them will certainly be in your locale. I'm not positive about the species of this particular plant, but I'm thinking the ID is okay. Corrections are always gladly received!
Milkweed, as a wildflower, has it all - beautiful scent, pretty flowers, attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Read all about it here:

How glorious....for a weed....to have such beauty and such high purpose! F/L++

One has to wonder why something is termed "weed" when it is so lovely and does so much good! Loved having you visit and thank you for your kind support!
