Description
Euonymus alatus, known variously as winged spindle, winged euonymus or burning bush, is a species of flowering tree. It is considered an invasive alien in Connecticut and Massachusetts, but everywhere else it's fine. People love it for the beautiful berries and leaves, and it has four "wings" on the twigs which make it feel like it's flattened twice - sort of "X" shaped.
This tree is growing at the edge of the woods, partial shade, moist earth.
