Description
Bull briar is an especially sturdy and pokey kind of bramble. There are many types of briars, and this Smilax can have different shaped leaves and variegated leaves. The leaves are edible when young and the berries are edible when old; I DON'T RECOMMEND EITHER AS FOOD!
For more on briars you can visit: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=smro
The harvestman was enjoying a sun bath. You may call them Daddy-Long-Legs and they are related to spiders. They are not spiders, however, but animals of their own type. You can learn more here: http://www.backyardnature.net/longlegs.htm

Very nice! I love the long gangly legs and the long wispy tendrils. Great color and composition.
