Description
These are relatively large dragonflies that are most easily found patrolling the edges of streams and ponds where food is plentiful. In New Jersey, their numbers increase dramatically during June then tail off again.
This picture was taken next to the pond in Green Lane's Skymount recreation area, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA, on May 29, 2012.
